Council Meetings

Our Savior's Council meeting Highlights: January 10th, 2012:

  • Christmas services were well attended.
  • Sunday school will be in session on the Saturday eve during worship services.
  • Goodie Bags were done by Board of Missions for older congregational members who lost spouses.
  • Feed back needed on nursery idea while church is going.
  • Alliant Energy will be installing new light in parking lot.
  • Money counters needed for each Sunday. List will be updated on procedures.
  • Nominations for council were discussed.
  • Pastor talked about buying laptops for the Treasure, and Financial Secretary, maybe buy one a year.
 


Our Savior's Annual meeting Highlights: January 22nd, 2012:

 

  • Thrivent Funds are not identified any longer as to where they come from, they notify the individual.
  • Audit of the books will be in February, with 2 people from O/S, and one from Jordan assisting.
  • All reports from Boards were read and approved.
  • Bible sticks were tabled for the Board of Missions and discussion at next meeting.
  • Nominations for council were approved.
 

 

 Jordan Annual Meeting Highlights:

  • Half acre land from Priebe’s has been surveyed.
  • Women’s Guild Bake Sales do very well through the year. Women’s Guild Bake Sale set for March 31st.
  • Sunday school has started out the year good, new Mission opportunities are being explored.
  • Jordan has done some tremendous things with Missions opportunities and will continue in the new year.
  • Budget was gone over and approved.
  • Nomination of Officers was cast with a unanimous ballot, all positions were filled.
  • Church cleaning dates were set- Inside- April 14th, Outside- May 19th.
  • Money Counter list will be gone over and new people contacted to help. List will be posted and sent to all.
  • Discussion of oil filled candles and if this is making the ceiling and walls black or if we should go to LED lights.
  • Expansion of parking lot was discussed, a diagram drawn up was shown to everyone present, it would increase parking from 19 cars to 35-40 cars.
  • Military Bible Sticks were brought up by Pastor. This is something our church felt passionate about and Sunday school will also be sending some out.
  • Pastor discussed getting Katy a laptop to help with Shepherd Staff Treasure reports.
